Labour Action for Peace was founded 1940 as an organisation of Labour Party members and supporters working for peace, socialism and disarmament, and seeking to make these issues the forefront of Labour Party policy.
    Annual General Meeting 2008:
The Annual General Meeting was held Tuesday 19th February 2008, 6.30.pm. at Friends' House, 173 Euston Road, London (opposite Euston Station)
Message from LAP Chairperson Dear Comrades,
We are planning to hold 3 meetings in 2008, and to produce three issues of 'Labour Peace Action'.
The 2nd meeting 'Arms and Peace - the nuclear race'. Details to be announced.
The 3rd meetng will be a joint meeting with Labour CND in Manchester during Labour Party Conference - September 2008.
LAP wants to be part of the revival of democratic socialist thinking, which has peace and internationalism at its centre, and disarmament as its goal. The challenges of the 21st Century affirm us in the path we are on. War is no way for civilised nations to conduct foreign policy, not only because it violates the human rights of its victims, but because it diverts the resources and energy needed to tackle the real threat - the planetary loss of a good environment.
The realisation is growing that war is obsolete. Isn't this what Labour Action for Peace was formed to campaign on? Let's build on it.
Membership is important to us, and the monies received from subscriptions meet the modest costs we incur in our campaigning.
Annual Subscriptions: Individuals £10-- or £4-- unwaged , Affiliated Organisations £10-- .
Grace Crookall-Greening, Chair of LAP
